For more than 35 years, the Combined Fund Drive has offered Washington State’s retirees the opportunity to continue their charitable giving into their retirement. This method of giving has proven to be beneficial for CFD members and donors, providing thousands of dollars in funding to our nonprofits while continuing to offer a safe and sustainable way for our retirees to give.
The CFD's retiree policy automatically continues any recurring payroll contributions current state employees may have into their retirement.
Retiring donors will be able to cancel, add or modify any donations before their separation date, or anytime during their retirement through the CFD online system, or by contacting the state CFD office and making a request with one of our staff members.
Payroll contributions continue to be one of the safest methods for people to give to charity, and the CFD believes this new method of retiree charitable giving will not only provide safe giving, but sustainable donations to our member charities that fit in any daily budget.
If you have any questions about this new policy, please contact the CFD state office at (360) 902-4162 or email [email protected].
The old policy of the Combined Fund Drive was to automatically stop your charitable payroll contributions the moment you became inactive as a state employee. You donations would cease and you would be given the option to restart those donations during your retirement.
The new CFD policy to is automatically roll any recurring donations you have and create your giving profile as a retiree of state government. In short, whatever MONTHLY PAYROLL CONTRIBUTIONS you had coming out of your paycheck as an active state employee will automatically be taken out of your retirement benefits.
